In 1973, the banker Edmond de Rothschild, a partner in
Chateau Lafie Rothschild, purchased two estates, Cru Bourgeois in the Medoc
area, one in Listrac, Chateau Clarke, and the other adjoining the former, in
Moulis, Chateau Malmaison.
He gave this beautiful property to his wife, Baronne Nadine
de Rothschild.
The 24 hectares of Chateau Malmaison were principally
planted with Merlot which gives Malmaison its typical, soft and harmonious
style.
It is recommended that the wines ofChaeau Malmaison be
stored in a cellar with a constant temperature of 54F to 57F. It is best taken
from the cellar several hours before serving and may be decanted. The ideal
tasting temperature is 60F. The wines from Mamaison go remarkably well with
meats such as lamb, fowl or game birds. - Wine Label
