A background note of wood sets off the spicy black Vosne-styled fruit that complements well the textured, concentrated and sweet flavors that possess real volume and are exceptionally rich yet remain balanced on detailed on the sappy, velvety and generous finish. This is a really lovely example of Chaumes, which rarely gets the respect accorded to most other Vosne 1ers yet this is first rate. BH
