1990 Rocca di Montegrossi Geremia Tuscany Condition:5-11-12good A terrific example of the 1990 Tuscany vintage, this producer's Vino da Tavola, the 1990 Geremia (a blend of Sangioveto and Canaiolo) boasts an impressive dark ruby/purple color, a big, expansive nose of cedar, vanillin, black-cherries, and currants. Very sweet (from ripeness, not sugar) with oodles of fruit, this lavishly rich, full-bodied, lush wine is reminiscent of a top-notch Pomerol given its opulence and velvety texture. It is easy to overlook the moderate tannin level in the wine's finish. The Geremia is also a candidate for 10-12 years of cellaring.-RP WA92 |
