2001 Hourglass Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

In recent tastings, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon performed even better than my lofty review in December, 2003. An extraordinary wine made by Pride Mountain's Bob Foley, it exhibits smoky, toasty oak scents intermixed with black currant liqueur, licorice, and a touch of cedar. The fragrant bouquet is followed by a full-bodied red with magnificent concentration, stunning purity, and admirable length. It should drink well for 10-15+ years. The good news is there are 800 cases of this wine. RP
