Less impressive from bottle than it was from barrel, the 2005 Bellegrave reveals a deep ruby color along with sweet aromas of black cherries, mocha, dried herbs, and a touch of earth. Medium-bodied and fruit-forward, with good acidity, smooth tannin, and an easy-going personality, it will provide plenty of pleasure over the next 10-12 years.-RP
