The ripe, rich, powerful 2003 The Maiden displays some rusticity along with sweet charcoal-infused black currant fruit intermixed with notions of vanilla and espresso. It's a beauty, but not nearly as succulent, velvety, or voluptuous as the 2002 The Maiden. RP
