Saturated ruby-purple. Deep, complex nose combines black and blue fruits, bitter chocolate, soy sauce, tar and spicy Taransaud oak. Great depth of flavor without any loss of shape or verve. Almost painful in the mouth, with the chewy texture of a solid. But this has wonderful sweetness and great persistence. The heat spike during the flowering kept cabernet franc production to less than a ton an acre, with cabernet sauvignon at barely 1.5, according to winemaker Helen Turley, who adds that these tiny-berried clones don't produce a lot of juice even under ideal conditions ST
