The 2000 Pinot Noir Occidental Vineyard Cuvee Elizabeth is profound. An opaque purple color is followed by gorgeous aromas of white flowers, minerals, black raspberries, cherries, and toast. It is slightly tight (from high tannin), and boasts layers of flavor, astonishing purity as well as fruit intensity, and a finish that lasts for nearly a minute. This majestic Pinot Noir is one of the most remarkable New World Pinots I have ever tasted. It can easily compete with the most profound French Burgundies. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2015. Bravo!
This bottle was purchased upon release and has been stored at 55 degrees in a temp/humidity controlled cellar and has not been moved
